As we continue to strengthen our product offering to customers through innovative design, we are looking for an experienced Product Development Engineer to join our Design & Development team. You will use your expertise to manage varying projects to provide customers with products that make perfect sense.

As a family-owned business established for nearly 30 years, we are keen for our people to grow with us, promoting over a quarter of our staff internally within recent years.

Reporting to the Design Director, you will be:

• Developing ideas from concept through manufacture, to launch in line with the New Product Introduction process.
• Creating 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks 3D software.
• Creating and modifying technical drawings and product specifications, including material lists and product costings.
• Driving forward multiple projects, ensuring the highest level of design quality.
• Communicating with our supplier partners on a regular basis to source products and components.
• Validating products using our in-house Thermal, Optical and Electrical test facilities.
• Ensuring that Sustainability and Circularity is designed into new products.
• Working with our Product engineers on the creation of Bills of Materials.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of all Design and Development procedures.

What you need to be able to demonstrate:

• Experience using SolidWorks to create sheet metal, cast and moulded components.
• Proven ability of handling a varied workload with multiple projects.
• A high standard of written and verbal communication.
• The confidence and ability to build relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
• Impeccable attention to detail and record keeping.
