1995 was a memorable year for many reasons. It was the year when the rivalry between Blur and Oasis reached its peak with Blur’s Country House beating Oasis’ Roll With It to the number one spot, Robbie Williams went solo after quitting Take That, Sony released the first Playstation, Forrest Gump won 6 Oscars at the 67th Academy Awards and Toy Story hit cinema screens for the first time.

1995 was also the year that the first Gamma Illumination CFL and HID downlights rolled off the production line in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire.

In the intervening 30 years, the company moved into a purpose-built factory in Dewsbury and massively expanding the range of products and services we offer. We are proud to have supplied lighting for many prestigious projects over the years, such as Manchester Airport, The Rolling Stones Shop on Carnaby Street and ITV Headquarters, as well as numerous retail and hospitality brands including Greggs, Manchester United FC, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels and Superdrug.

We now build, on average, over 1000 luminaires per week and continue to design and develop innovative low energy lighting products, incorporating the latest LED technology.
