News / Lighting Made In Britain For 25 Years

Delivering light for a quarter of a century

1996 was a memorable year for many reasons.

England were knocked out of Euro 96 by Germany in the semi-finals after Gareth Southgate (whatever happened to him?) missed during a tense penalty shoot-out, The Spice Girls burst onto an unsuspecting music scene and the first episode of The Simpsons was aired on BBC2.

1996 was also the year that the first Gamma Illumination CFL and HID downlights rolled off the production line in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire.

In the intervening 25 years, the company has moved into a purpose-built factory in Dewsbury and massively expanding the range of products and services we offer. We are proud to have supplied lighting for many prestigious projects over the years, such as Greggs national store rollout, Manchester Airport and The Rolling Stones Shop on Carnaby Street and we now build, on average, over 1000 LED luminaires per week and continue to design and develop innovative low energy lighting products, incorporating the latest technology.
