Just 81 days after approval, Northern Ireland’s second Nightingale Hospital was ready to receive its first Covid-19 patients. Gamma worked closely with Chroma Lighting to ensure the tight deadlines and budget were met to allow the wards to open and start treating patients as quickly as possible.

Three floors of Whiteabbey Hospital were transformed to allow patients recovering from Covid-19 to receive specialist care.

Gamma’s OMOD ADJ modulars and Sysion RE downlights were used extensively for general ambient lighting with Quinto AFE linear downlights and Topaz ACJ miniature downlights providing accent lighting. The luminaires all feature Casambi Bluetooth wireless technology for maximum functionality, control and ease of use and this also, importantly, helped to simplify and speed up installation.
